Frequently Asked Questions

How do you go about tutoring my child?
I start by assessing their strengths and weaknesses and determining their goals. Then, together with you the parent and student, we formulate a strategy to help your student test at his or her maximum potential. Typically I meet with the student once a week, either ten 1.5 hour sessions or fifteen 1 hour sessions. If you are on in a time crunch and have to prepare for a test coming up soon, we can meet more than once per week.

Actual tutoring time will consist of concept review and practice. I’ll be there to help your student work through any issues he or she may have and provide tips, tricks and strategies to ensure each student is working as efficiently as possible. Homework will be assigned following each session which we review at the start of our next meeting to assess areas that still need improvement. All the materials that your son or daughter will use as study material are tests that have been given in the past, which is important because he or she should practice with the same exact materials he or she will be tested on and in the same format.

In addition to the ACT, SAT or PSAT tutoring, practice tests are offered on the weekends. Unlike some tutoring places who limit how many you can take as part of your contract, I allow you to take as many as you want and it’s included in your tutoring fee. register online >>
